THE METCHOSIN REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP GROUP
The Metchosin Refugee Sponsorship Group (MRSG) was formed to sponsor the Sunil family's journey to Canada. We consist of members of St Mary’s Anglican Church, along with anyone else from the broader community who would like to help.
Some of the people already helping.Members of the MRSG have promised the federal government that we will help the Sunils get settled in Canada, once the long process of finalizing their application is complete. As of this writing it’s been 18 months since the application was accepted. COVID 19 however has slowed this process down a great deal.
While we receive administrative support from the Anglican Church’s Refugee Program, the Sunil’s sponsorship is not financed by the Anglican Diocese or the Canadian Government. This is what’s called a "Private Sponsorship" by a group of people just like you who believe the Sunils need our help, and their arrival here will make Canada a better place.
